Welcome everybody,
We are gathered here today to reflect on the life and times of everybody’s favourite social media platform… Google+.
From birth, Google+ had been a challenging child. Unfortunately, not even Google was able to understand or control Google+. This led to Google+ living its life out as an outlier, always on the fringe with few friends playing an active role in its life. A tough life, to be sure, but it persisted nonetheless with its risky ways and lax security practices.
On April 2, 2019, however, the world lost Google+…

That’s right, in case you missed the news, Google+ is no longer. Google has merged some of the Google+ features (like posts) into Google My Business (which is how you get a Google information panel and onto Google Maps), but Google+ itself no longer exists.
Google has said that a security flaw and low usage of the platform spurred this shutdown.
It is important to note that the Google+ closure will NOT affect any of the other Google services you may use like AdWords, Gmail, Google My Business, Maps, Analytics, etc. Many of our clients Google+ pages remained relatively inactive since they were created.
Many of our clients will have added a link to Google+ on their website. We are actively going through and removing links for clients should we notice as the link will only take you to a 404 error page. If, however, you notice that your website still has a Google+ icon on it, just let us know and we’ll take it down for you.
Cheers
