Speaking of Google AdWords here is a classic mistake to try and avoid.
I just did a search on Google for Canon ink cartridges for our home printer.
I typed canon mp530 ink into Google.
One of the Google Ads said:
Geunine and compatible ink cartridges
Great deals on Canon Mp530 Ink
That ad takes me to this page.
Which is just the generic home page for this business selling ink cartridges.
What it should do, of course, is send me straight to a specific selling page for the Canon MP530 Ink cartridge – because that’s what I searched for.
So I spend 30 seconds trying to find the Canon MP530 ink. No luck.
So I use their search facility on the site……….and I get these words:
What a waste of money that is: Advertising and paying good money on a product you don’t even sell.
Crazy.
Brendon
P.S: There are times when you might use this strategy – for when you’re testing out the viability of selling a product – but this doesn’t look to be one of those times.
Cheers

Not only is this wasted advertising money, Brendon, it’s rude to people … almost as if the business is happy to inform the potential customer that they can’t sell him or her anything.
think of the opposite tack … why not ask for the customer’s contact info and offer to let him know immediately the product comes in … contact her and find out how you _can_ sell the specific items, or a substitute … or if it is an item you are not going to handle, refer the customer to a source who does.
It’s all about relationships, isn’t it?
