Here’s some good opportunistic marketing.
I’m a big fan of Arrested Development – a US comedy. I have the DVD box set and have just watched the entire series.
One of the episodes mentions a web site (very briefly) called www.imoscar.com.
Being the marketing guy I am I had to take a look to see if that web site actually existed. And yep, it does.
On the web site – which is simply links to affiliate sites – are the words:
“Welcome to Imoscar.com If you’re looking for Arrested Development Season 3, Arrested Development Season 2, Prison Law or anything similar, go ahead and browse our comprehensive resource directory. You ought to find something interesting!”
A Quick Site, An Easy Few Bucks
Someone has come along and popped up the site in the hope that someone, like me, would check out to see if the web site was actually and then click on the links and buy stuff.
The site would pull in a few visitors I’d guess and the owner has probably made a nice little profit on his opportunistic development of the site.
It’s a great example of opportunistic marketing.
Cheers

I wonder if Tobias’ job title of a mix between Analyst and Therapist has a website – ‘Analrapist’ Personally I don’t want to search for it…

That was one dodgy business card!
