Marketing is every interaction your business does. It’s just not the newspaper ad or the web site or the billboard.
It’s every single interaction your business makes. Sometimes it’s the interaction you don’t make.
Yep, ignore a customer and see your business take a hit.
I was having lunch today in a coffee shop in Burleigh. Had me a toasted sandwich and a coffee. They make a nice coffee. But the business/marketing is shit.
I Base That On This
I was sitting at my outside table when the Barista brought out my coffee.
I tried to make eye contact to say thanks. She wasn’t interested in that.
She dumped the coffee without a word and off she went.
- No “Hiya, I made this coffee with love. Hope you like it!’
- No “This is my best coffee of the day. And I made it for YOU!”
- No “Hi, hope you enjoy your coffee.”
- No “Your coffee.”
- No smile.
- No eye contact.
- No nothing.
Coffee shops aren’t about the coffee.
They’re about a sense of belonging. A sense of community. Being friendly.
Marketing is every single bit of your business.
Cheers
