An online mate gave me a heads up on a domain name he thought I might be interested. It’s a solid domain name that would be worth a few bucks and I’ll try and get it if the price is right.
Another online mate gave me a heads up years ago that enabled me to buy the excellent domain name Eczema.com.au.
I’ve never seen domain names as particularly valuable.
Sure, a few generic ones are exceptionally valuable and our Eczema.com.au is woth a bit, but mostly domain names hold no intrinsic value in themselves.
A domain name has to earn value.
Sure, some domain names get a bit of type in, direct visitor traffic.
Some domain names get a boost in search engines because the domain name is exactly what a lot of people are looking for.
On the whole, however, a domain name is worth only as much as the business behind it and there are far better and easier ways to add value to an online business than by buying a generic and/or domain name.
Create value for your visitors and you’ll create value for your business.
Cheers
