One of our clients is the awesome Cafe Catalina, a gorgeous bar/restaurant situated right next door to the Gold Coast Aquatic Centre at the Broadwater Parklands on the Gold Coast.
Overlooking the water, plenty of parking, modern building.
Sounds like the perfect spot, right?
Maybe. You see, being in that perfect spot can be challenging to say the least.
Shutdowns for major events
Like in April 2018 when the Commonwealth Games rolled into town. Being adjacent to the Aquatic Centre meant Cafe Catalina was shut down for months as the preparations got underway and the Games were on.
Then we had the Gold Coast Marathon on last weekend.
The races end right outside the front door of Cafe Catalina – no another shutdown.
Sure, we tried to promote a “Beers at the Finish Line” vibe, but runners just want to get the hell out of there once their race is done.
So that perfect position can also prove to be a huge hurdle as everyone wants to be right there!
