Ooooooops.
It’s been 8 days since I last posted. That has to be some sort of record.
Been flat out with a few sites.
A couple of them have just had mentions on major TV shows here in Australia.
With one of those sites we had a whole range of things to do, but it’s worked very nicely with tons of orders rolling in.
The other site didn’t get as big an impact, but we were able to maximise the benefit of the interest that was there.
Experience Counts
Experience really counts in marketing.
With one of the cases above, when the product received a hugely favourable mention on TV the TV show web site listed where the product could be found.
My client didn’t make that list.
But there was one guy who was on top.
His web site was 1 of 3 sites mentioned. His was the only clickable web site.
5 minutes after the show went to air his web site had crashed because he was overwhelmed with visitors – all desperately wanting to buy a $1,000+ product.
4 days later his web site was still down.
Save $100 and Miss Out On $2.5 Million
For the sake of a bit of experience (and spending an extra $100 a year on a decent web host) this one man business missed out on what I would estimate would have been $2.5 million in sales.
The lesson is pretty clear – you need to understand when you need to get outside experts in for the right advice.
Sure, it will cost you a couple of bucks but it just might be that 1 decision that lets you retire tomorrow with $2.5 million in the bank.
Cheers
