One of the challenges we have as web developers is developing sites that are user friendly for everyone.
You see, people use :
- different browsers,
- different screen resolutions,
- they absorb information differently,
- different colours mean different things to different people, and
- lots more.
People Aren’t So Smart
One thing you really need to consider when you develop a web site is that a good portion of your viewers don’t read a word of the site.
- Sure, you might have the price $17.99 plastered all over the site for your product, but I can guarantee your most common question will be “How much is it?”
- You write a post about how Quilton Loves Your Bum (back in 2006) and think it’s pretty clear that we’re not the manufacturer of the product.
But nope, to this day we get complaints from people that think we make toilet paper and have complaints about the size, the thickness, the message, the company advertising, etc of Quilton toilet paper!
You simply have to make everything as incredibly obvious and simple as possible, or the stupid people will come after you.
Cheers
