This article on people who are working remotely secretly working two jobs tickled my fancy.
And as impressive as it is, not as impressive as a guy working at one of our client’s business.
Working two jobs ………in person
This guy wasn’t working remotely.
He was working in person.
As the General Manager of quite a good size business (40+ employees).
He seemed a little off to me.
A bit vague at times. Pre-occupied.
He was a very busy Manager.
Always off having meetings with clients or suppliers.
Or so he said.
What he was really doing was working elsewhere.
20 kilometres down the road at a competing business, of about the same size.
As their General Manager.
I kid you not.
He would head into the office.
Stay an hour or so, then make up a reason he needs to leave.
Drive 20 km to his other job.
Stay an hour or so, then make up a reason to leave.
And repeat.
He managed to keep it up for about a month before he was found out.
Crazy.
