The Challenge
Physiotherapists saturate the market with a lot of information. Our client, Tim Brown from Summit Physio believes in fast and effective techniques that get results quickly and effectively for his patients. Our PR and marketing approach needed to reflect Summit Physio’s values.
The Tailored Solution
Summit Physiotherapy and Shoulder Centre began in March 2016 and is the culmination of Tim Brown’s journey as a physio on the Gold Coast and his desire to deliver the highest level of service to the community. Summit Physiotherapy focuses on their client’s needs and wants. It’s a sports physiotherapy centre that stays loyal to its local base ensuring that their team consistently meet the needs of their clients.
The clinic benefits from the 25+ years of work and travel Tim has undergone with national sports teams and world class athletes. Tim has worked with the best in their fields – athletes, coaches, and sports medicine professionals. Tim’s approach to treatment and healing is focused largely upon the idea that ‘pain is in the brain’.
How We Made It Happen
We produced a media release that was sent to local media a few weeks prior to the Gold Coast Marathon. When large sporting events are happening, the topic of sports related pain and injury becomes more prevalent. By highlighting Tim’s expertise and experience in the media release, a greater level of trust was generated amongst readers.
Tim’s unique approach to treating pain caught the attention of Channel Nine News; particularly the statement that; ‘Many surgeries performed on patients are unnecessary, and a better, and cheaper, form of treatment is to prescribe exercise, including weights, and help the patient understand the current approach to persistent pain.’
“I’m interested in helping my patients understand the way they think about pain, particularly how to remove fear around it which can prevent them from leading a full, active life,” he said.
The media release was sent in the morning via an email, accompanied by supporting graphics. Within hours, Channel 9 news had responded positively and were at Summit Physio to interview Tim shortly after. You can watch the full news story here.
