One of my Facebook friends is a previous supplier of services I’ve used when holidaying.
They announced, with much excitement yesterday that their brand spanking new site was launched and live and wasn’t it pretty?!
So I took a look.
I could hardly see it.
And I could hardly see it because I was using an iPhone and the site isn’t optimised for use on an iPhone.
Up To 50% Of Visitors Will Be Using A Mobile Device
But anywhere between 30-50% of the visitors to that site will be using a mobile device, so developing the site so it looks great in a mobile device should go without saying.
So the business has a new web site that’s a poor experience for up to half of their visitors. What a sad situation and a waste of money.
There’s really no excuse these days to develop a site that’s not right for mobile devices – I really can’t imagine why the web developer wouldn’t think he/she needs to do it.
Cheers
